Bude - Saturday 21st April 2012
Arrived in Bude about 3pm with Andy due to come down later in the evening. The weather forecast for the coming week was mostly terrible and there had been a couple of showers earlier but the sun was currently out and the gulls were making the usual sounds of the seaside.
Checked into the B&B after exploration and food and got down to the business of packing the rucksack, bearing in mind rain and possibly cold weather to come.
Fairway House was a great B&B and highly recommended. The plan was to base here and take the bus to Crackington Haven to pick up from where we finished Leg 3. Not the most convenient location for the bus in town but only a 10 min walk and plenty of free parking. Also views out over the golf course - the sunny view out of the window was going to change tomorrow though!
Andy arrived about 8.30pm as estimated. We opted not to go out as the weather was declining and getting colder by the evening.

I was planning on a supposedly famous traditional pasty from Pengenna in Bude but they closed at 5pm so ended up with a rather sub-standard and luke-warm one from the bakers. At least put your opening times on the door Pengenna!
